Benjamin Lamy

Benjamin Lamy is a French guitarist and composer. He discovered the guitar at the age of 15 and immediately fell in love with it. As an instrument of expression and refuge, the guitar is a way for him to connect with his emotions. For Benjamin, music is above all a gateway to the imagination and a way to travel beyond reality. He sees in it a healing dimension that is capable of deeply touching people.

Very early on, he gained experience playing in bands and performing on stage in an amateur setting, laying the foundations for his artistic career. At the age of 17, he enrolled in the music studies program at the University Institute of Technology in Annecy. There, he followed an intensive course in guitar and composition, devoting several hours a day to practice his instrument.

His early inspirations came from rock and metal, through bands such as Placebo, Metallica, Joe Satriani, Megadeth, and Pantera. These influences forged the foundations of his style, combining intensity, expressiveness, and technical skill.

Today, his musical universe lies at the crossroads between rock and film music, blending intensity and emotion. He explores a variety of styles, always with a clear intention: to compose evocative soundscapes that tell a story.

While the intensity of rock remains an important foundation, his influences now extend to film and soundtrack composers. Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, Thomas Newman, and Jeremy Soule are composers he admires for their ability to blend emotion, grandeur, and finesse.

Prismeria — Metal, energy, and live music

In 2017, he co-founded the metal band Prismeria, with whom he composed an EP and an album. The latter was very well received by the media and webzines in many countries.

The band also stands out for its intense concerts, raw and infectious energy, and visceral connection with the audience.

Prismeria performed on numerous stages and at festivals throughout France. This gave Benjamin a strong artistic outlet and an unwavering love for live music. This period was marked by a search for musical creativity and human cohesion.

The Metonic Cycle — Acoustic rock and cinematic imagination

In 2025, he teamed up with Leny Garcia to create The Metonic Cycle, a hard folk project combining cinematic flights of fancy and virtuosity.

Together, they composed Celestial Mechanics, an album at the crossroads of rock, metal, and film music. This album blends intensity, emotion, and immersive atmospheres.

The duo explores a dreamlike and profound musical language, blending rhythmic power and melody. It draws as much from the rock tradition as it does from the aesthetics of film soundtracks.
